Fall Kickoff - Save the Date!

Join us as we celebrate the start of our 2026 Fall season! Meet our fall sports' coaches, enjoy the company of other athletes, and learn more about all Special Olympics Buncombe County has to offer! Practice information for fall sports is below. Dinner will be provided.

Fall Practice Information

Soccer – Mondays, starting 8/31, 6:00pm-7:00pm at Buncombe County Sports Park Field 3. Soccer Playoffs - 10/24.
Bocce – Wednesdays, starting September 9th, 3:45pm-5:15pm at Buncombe County Sports Park Bocce Courts
Tennis – Wednesdays, starting September 9th, 5:00pm-6:00pm, location coming soon!
Gymnastics - Year-round, Saturdays, 12pm - 1:30pm, at Hahn's Gymnastics
Golf – We are currently seeking a golf coach! If you know of have anyone, please let us know!
Pickleball Clinics - TBD
Unified Soccer Clinic - TBD

SONC Fall Tournament - November 12th-14th

Fall Sport Sign-Ups coming soon! All sports are open to athletes 8+ with an intellectual or developmental disability. If you have a young athlete, ages 2-7, please email buncombe@sonc.net.

Asheville Tourists Game

September 5th, 6:05pm first pitch

All athletes and parents/guardians/caregivers are invited to join us for the Asheville Tourists Game on September 5th! Our Special Olympics Buncombe County Basketball team will be joining the Tourists on the field for the national anthem and there will be a basketball jersey giveaway to the first 1200 guests to the ballpark - so get there early!

Each athlete will be allotted up to 3 tickets (one for the athlete a

nd up to two for a parents / guardians / caregivers).

2026-27 Athlete Registration Forms

All 2025-26 Athlete Registration Forms expire August 1st. Forms that were completed online for 2025-26 can be renewed online. If the information is the same you will not need to enter any information. Just log in to your account and click on Renewal. If you forgot your password, click on forgot password. Please do not create a new account.

There will be NO paper forms accepted for 2025-26. If you completed a paper form in 2025-26, you will need to complete the online registration.

All Athletes must have completed Athlete Registration Forms prior to participating in any practices or Spring Games.
