We're More than a House

The work we do for our over 800 residents could not happen without the financial support of supporters like you. The impact we have on our residents is more than just a roof over their heads, but don't take my word for it.

“It’s like a family here. You never feel alone here.”

-Regina, Hunters Woods Fellowship House

"I've had more fun in the last seven months here at Lake Ridge Fellowship House..."

-Diane, Lake Ridge Fellowship House Resident

“Free food helps my meager budget! The volunteers and community members …are so wonderful. They even give me helpful ideas about how to use, heat, and serve the food.”

-Hunters Woods Fellowship House Resident describing Fellowship Fresh Program

Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution of $100, $250, $500, or any amount you can afford to help us maintain the quality housing we are known for, put food on the tables of 800+ seniors, and help them get through life’s daily struggles.

Please consider making your contribution securely online today by clicking here.

If you’ve donated before, thank you for your trust and belief in the work we do for our residents. If you are a new donor, thank you for believing in our mission. We truly appreciate your financial support.

October Recap

An Evening of Community, Advocacy, and Fun!

On October 15th, Fellowship Square staff welcomed community members, local political leaders, and industry professionals to Lake Ridge Fellowship House for an open house event. Attendees met residents, toured our community, won raffle prizes, and made an impact.

Check out photos from the event here.

The Impact of Giving

Fellowship Square prides itself on creating warm and welcoming living environments at each Fellowship House. We take great care to meet residents’ needs – to listen to them, empower them, and appreciate them in a way that gives them peace of mind about their home and their community.

While Fellowship Square properties are operationally supported through rental income subsidies from the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), all other funds used for resident services must be raised through our fundraising efforts.

We rely on donations from individuals, businesses and houses of worship; corporate sponsorships for events and programs; foundation grants and planned giving to sustain our organization and provide the funds needed to ensure a robust menu of supportive services for residents.

Please take a moment right now to make the most generous tax-deductible contribution to support the work we do – and see our mission in action in this short video.

In a recent survey by the Commonwealth Fund, they noted that older adults face an uphill battle to afford the healthcare they need. Fellowship Square recognizes this cost burden on our seniors and knows that with the right interventions and supportive services, we can help keep seniors out of the hospital and living independently a little longer. But only if we can count on you to make a financial contribution to the work that we do.

It's no secret that housing affordability is a crisis nationwide – and we’re seeing a sharp rise in homelessness among adults 55 and older. Fellowship Square is working to do what we can to build more housing and provide a comfortable and dignified place that anyone would be proud to call home. But our efforts to develop the next affordable Fellowship House relies on dependable generosity from the community.

It’s time to think about year-end giving. I hope I can count on you to make an end-of-year donation to Fellowship Square. Thank you.

In gratitude,

Virginia Housing Alliance Conference

Christy Zeitz, Fellowship Square CEO, recently spoke at VHA's Housing Credit Conference as a panelist for the Affordable Housing Development for Older Adults: Challenges and Innovative Models session. Panelists shared expertise on affordable housing finance and development, as well as how to ensure dignity and support for older adults in affordable housing communities.

We're always happy to share our experience and lessons learned with others working to ensure older adults have a place to call home.

Partner Spotlight - Sentara

"Sentara Health's 3D mammography unit takes away the barriers of time and accessibility and prioritizes serving communities with limited access to mammography services."

On October 9th, Sentara Health's mobile mammography unit visited Lake Ridge Fellowship House to provide breast cancer screening services to residents.

These services are vital, as screenings allow for earlier detection, diagnosis, and more effective treatment. The American Cancer Society recommends mammograms as one of the first lines of defense against breast cancer.

Fellowship Square thanks Sentara Health for bringing these services directly to our residents!
