Midwest CAM Solutions News
Fall/Winter 2021
|
|
I hope that 2021 has been a successful year for your business so far. Over here at Midwest CAM Solutions, we continue to grow and add to our team, so that we can serve you better.
You may have already spoken with Jerry, our newest team member. We are thrilled to bring Jerry and his 30 years of manufacturing experience to you in his role as an Applications Technician and Trainer.
We recently exhibited at the WITS show in Witchita, and it was wonderful to be back out there, talking to customers in person again! We are looking forward to more events like this as life begins to return to normal. There is just no substitute for seeing people face-to-face.
You may have heard that Cambrio (the company that owns GibbsCAM) was recently acquired by Sandvik. Sandvik tends to let their acquisitions work very independently, so we see this entirely as a positive. Rest assured that GibbsCAM is in good hands with a solid manufacturing company, where we believe that the software has found its forever home.
And of course, we hope that you have downloaded the new release: GibbsCAM 2022! In it you will find lots of new features that customers have been asking for. We are excited to share more about this new release with you.
|
|
GibbsCAM 2022 has many powerful enhancements you've been asking for, including new surface and solid modeling functions, improvements to predrilling, rotary machining, and deburring. It also includes faster simulation and extended support for machines with multiple configurations or tooling arrangements.
Head on over to our website to find out more about the power and productivity of GibbsCAM 2022. You will find new features to start using today to streamline your CNC programming.

New Maintenance and
Post Processor Policies
|
|
The policies around renewing expired Maintenance have recently changed and if you will be affected by the changes, you will have already received an email discussing your options.
In short, the new policies are:
- If your Maintenance license is four or more years expired, you will no longer have the option to renew. You will be required to repurchase your GibbsCAM license. Renew before December 31, 2021 to prevent that from happening.
- As of January 1, 2022, the multi-seat discount for Maintenance will no longer be offered. So, if you have multiple seats, you need to get current on Maintenance by December 31, 2021 to be grandfathered into the multi-seat discount pricing structure.
There are lots of great reasons to be on GibbsCAM maintenance: new version releases, priority technical support, discounts on add-on software, just to name a few. But other reasons that you may not realize include having to repurchase the software if anything happens to the computer you are running GibbsCAM on, or if you lose or break the hardware key.
Let's make sure that that never happens to you! Give us a call today to get a quote for getting you back on Maintenance by the deadline of December 31, 2021.
