Rodeo and Western Lifestyle Photography Workshop
North Texas, April 1st - 5th, 2020
Photojournalist, Joe Duty, takes you behind the scenes for a Rodeo and Western culture photographic expedition. Through the experience of capturing rodeo and western life, you'll learn tips and techniques you can use in all areas of photography...lifestyle, sports, portraits and nature. This class brings it all to you with a western flair.
The workshop will encompass many different areas of photography. Our host for the 5 days, NRS Ranch Event Center offers many opportunities for capturing western life. Activities will include: 2 rodeo events, cowboy portrait shoots, sunset/sunrise shoots on the ranch, chuck wagon dinner, western lifestyle photography and we will also capture cowboys working cattle on the ranch.

Powderhorn Ranch Women’s Retreat

in beautiful Wyoming as we enjoy the hospitality and horsemanship of the wonderful True family. This is a truly special place where you can leave the world behind for a little while and enjoy the essence of the western landscape and lifestyle. Shoots will include herd drives, working cattle, cowgirl and cowboy portraits, dramatic landscape scenes, magical barn light, headshots, action and so much more! This retreat encourages ideas and collaboration from all attendees and although not technically structured as a workshop you can be sure to come away with lots of new ideas, knowledge and lifelong friends and memories. We will also spend an evening and morning visiting the Deerwood Mustang Sanctuary to photograph the 350 mustang geldings that live there.

Wild Horse Photography Workshops
New Mexico, Your custom dates
Join Steve Simmons in the beauty of New Mexico to explore its unique landscape in search of the wild and free horses of the West. Simmons has been photographing these magnificent creatures for 10 years and understands how to track, approach and photograph them as only a true horseman can. Simmons has studied herd behavior and understands their movements, patterns, and can frequently predict their activities and control these movements for long periods of time to create wonderful photographic opportunities.
Tours can be done from horseback for advanced riders with experience outside of the arena, or by vehicle and hiking trips if the horseback adventure is not your cup of tea. These workshops are custom adventures for 1 - 4 people and can be arranged for the convenience of the participant. It is recommended that each workshop last a minimum of 2 days and can last up to 5 days.
