Claude Monet produced luminous paintings of Venice in his later years. This exhibit showcases 100 works of art, including the BROOKLYN MUSEUM'S own Palazzo Ducale and The Grand Canal, Venice, from the collection of the Fine Arts Museums in San Francisco. Alongside paintings by Monet are works by other artists who also painted Venice, such as Canaletto, Signac, Sargent, and Renoir.
The Brooklyn Museum’s permanent collection ranges from world-renowned Egyptian antiquities and European masterpieces to American and contemporary art, design, and Judy Chicago’s iconic The Dinner Party.
