September Beekeeping Tips
This month in the hive the queen's rate of egg laying slows down as and the brood area continues to contract. Little drone brood is laid. This is the end of a second, smaller swarm season.
Left untreated, the Varroa mite population usually peaks in August and September. Make sure to treat for mites.
Make sure to feed your bees and make sure there is water readily available.
