Hello! We hope you've been enjoying a wonderful Fall season. It's hard to believe but Thanksgiving is next week and 2014 is right around the corner!
Here at Eastern Lift, we've been especially busy the last 3 or 4 months. We've continued to expand into new areas and add personnel to better serve your needs. We'd love to tell you a little bit about it in the following newsletter...

One of our fastest growing divisions at Eastern Lift Truck Co. is our Dock and Door Division.
Over the past few years, many of our customers expressed to us their frustration in sourcing a reliable dock and door service provider. To that end, Eastern Lift is pleased to have stepped in to fill the void.
Eastern has expanded its Dock and Door staff and offers safe, prompt and reliable installation and service for all types of dock equipment and doors. This includes manual and hydraulic docks, bollards, bumpers, enclosures, fire and freezer doors, gates, high-speed doors, levelers, restraints, rolling steel doors, seals, sectional doors, scissors lifts, and shelters.
Many of our customers also enjoy the often overlooked benefit of reduced administrative costs and time since they only deal with one vendor for lift trucks and dock/door equipment.
We would also point out that unlike some other service providers, Eastern Lift does NOT use lift truck technicians to service dock and door equipment. Granted, some of our techs have the capability to work on both types of equipment. But, we understand the importance of having specially trained personnel focused on dock and door equipment and all that it entails.

Another rapidly expanding group at Eastern Lift is our Retail Services Division. Until recently, this division shared its office and shop with Eastern Lift Branch #6 in Upper Marlboro MD. But rapid growth has necessitated the need for additional space. So, Division Manager Tom Carney moved his team to a separate facility in Chester MD.
From this location, Tom and his staff dispatch specialized technicians all up and down the US Eastern seaboard, to repair and maintain: - Vertical Balers
- Self-contained, Vertical and Stationary Compactors
- Electric Shopping Carts
- Dock Plates, Levelers and Lifts
- Scissors Lifts
- Pallet Trucks, Jacks and Stackers
With such a large geographic service area (Connecticut to the Virginia/North Carolina border) it's important to note that the Retail Services Division has a large crew of specialized technicians living and working in CT, NJ, DE, PA, MD and VA.

Employee News - Recent Retirements
Eastern Lift Truck Co. would like to acknowledge the contributions of three special employees who recently announced their retirement.
Bill Walker - With a career dating back to the late 1960s, Bill has seen and been involved in a lot of changes in the industry. He started with Eastern Lift as a Customer Service Rep and then sold equipment for about 8 years in Bucks County PA and Mercer County NJ. For the last few years Bill has played an active role in our Used Equipment and Electric Vehicles Departments. As far as retirement goes, Bill looks forward to spending time with his family, which includes 7 grand children and playing golf.
David Heath - David's career as a lift truck technician covered 32 years. Fortunately, the last 6 years have been with Eastern Lift out of our Newark DE location. David was instrumental in Eastern setting up long term relations with more than one key account and all of us (customers included) were sad to learn of his retirement. But we wish David all the best!
Sandy Spinelli - Sandy started with Eastern Lift Truck Co. (Maple Shade NJ) 25 years ago, helping with filing and other clerical needs in the Accounting Department. Over the years she has become an instrumental part of Jackie DeNote's team and has helped keep things in the office running smoothly. Over the last few years, Sandy has handled invoicing new and used equipment sales and receiving purchase orders. She looks forward to spending time with her family including 4 grandchildren and extended stays at the Jersey shore.
Bill, David and Sandy all expressed thanks to Mike and Dan Pruitt, as well as their Eastern Lift co-workers, for creating such an enjoyable place to work.
In turn, Eastern Lift thanks Bill, David and Sandy for their commitment to the company and its customers. You guys have something like 100 years of combined experience! We'll miss that expertise. But most of all, we'll miss you! Best wishes to each of you and your families as you embark on new adventures in retirement.

Eastern Lift cares about safety! We review potential issues on a daily basis with our employees and our customers. Our Training Department is staffed with six people who have a passion and full-time focus on safety.
Eastern's Safety Committee meets monthly and is comprised of employees from all different departments. Our entire team is always on the lookout for new products and better programs to promote safety in our industry.
This little but powerful Blue Spotlight is one of those "game-changing" safety products. We've been offering it for a while now and have had excellent feedback about it's ability to boost awareness of lift trucks in noisy facilities.

Studies continue to show that in material handling situations, improved ergonomics often equal improved productivity! In many workplaces such as warehouses, construction sites and retail stockrooms, the worker's body becomes a mechanical tool, and it becomes important to make sure that tool is being used properly and safely.
