In preparation for our annual meeting, we have created a webpage where you can review the GLC Constitution, By Law changes, and a Continuing Resolution that adopts a GLC Endowment Fund.

These have been approved by the Council and will be voted on at the annual congregational meeting on October 17. After reviewing the postings, please email any questions you might have to Norman Loboda

We have scheduled a zoom forum meeting to answer your questions (it will also be recorded) for tonight — Thursday, September 23 @ 7:00 pm.

Welcome to GLC's adult education class! If you are new to our church or have been here your entire life--this class will entertain and educate you every Sunday morning! We dig deeper into the preaching text of the day using maps, stories, accompanying texts, reference books, photos, and some humor along the way. Please join us at 10:15 in the Chapel (directly behind the Sanctuary) to meet new friends and connect with old ones. We are so excited to be beginning another year--we hope that you will attend! No experience necessary, ages high school to adult. Questions? Please contact Merla Billquist (630) 205-2896 or Jane Perkolup (815) 210-0086. See you there!

Pastor Trudy's
Weekend Message
Wandering Prayers
It is true that Martin Luther struggled with the book of James. But it should not be misunderstood that he didn't see any value in James. It just wasn't as Gospel centered as some other letters, like Romans. This week's reading is a perfect example of the gifts Luther or anyone else can find in James. He invites a varied prayer life and a community that gathers around in prayer in times of need and in times of joy. In this way, prayer travels with us as we wander through our lives of faith.

Gracious God, thank You for the gift of prayer. You invite us to pray at all times, in suffering, when
cheerful, and when sick, then accompany us as You guide us to see Your answers.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
GLC Kids!
Come to Sunday School @ 10:15!
During the final portion of the 10:30 am service THIS SUNDAY, September 26, we will have a special presentation of Bibles to our newest Sunday School attendees, 3-year-olds! If you have 3-year-old attending Sunday School this year, please plan on attending so they may receive their blessing and Bible. The event will be recorded and aired at the following week’s services. If you are unable to attend, please email Michelle Lata, Coordinator of Children and Family Ministries
Worship Bulletins for Kids!
Click on a button to print a kids bulletin to engage your kids as you join in worship online, or just for fun before or after service!
As a reminder, we continue to offer bulletins for kids at in-person worship!
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
I am uncertain about I doing it 'right'? Am I saying the 'right' things? Put away any guilt or shame you have around prayer! Think about prayer as being that good friend who accepts and understands you even though you may not be speaking full sentences at the moment. It is about the relationship, not the words you say or don't say. And just like the very best friends; sometimes they will give you comfort or affirmation and sometimes they will challenge you to find a new path. Either way, what a gift that we have a God who loves us like that!
Are you ready to ring? Are you ready to sing? GLC Handbell Choir and Sanctuary Choir are starting in-person rehearsals soon!
Bells rehearse Mondays @ 7 pm
Choir rehearses Wednesdays @ 7:45 pm
Please contact Amy Steenson for more information regarding COVID protocols and to reserve your spot!
Come on out for conversation and refreshment at Nobel House in Geneva on Monday, September 27 @ 8 pm. We meet the 4th Monday of each month at various locations. For questions, contact Jeff Cameron.
