Stephanie Marrus, MA, MBA, Director, Entrepreneurship Center
Startup 101 is UCSF Entrepreneurship Center’s core class that is offered once a year in January and has given rise to many startups. Learn about our acclaimed course that teaches the basics of starting a life science/healthcare company from an idea. The class is appropriate for people who want to explore the entrepreneurial world either as a founder or a team member. Find out whether your idea could be a company, you have the personality to be an entrepreneur or fit as a team member. This experiential, team-based class will cover the topics important to starting a scalable, for-profit commercial venture with many guest lecturers from Silicon Valley. Have an idea that you think might be material for a startup? Considering joining an entrepreneurial team? Working on a startup and would like business training? Looking to find team members or meet other entrepreneurs at UCSF? Considering alternative careers to scientific research/clinical practice? Curious about the Silicon Valley startup world? The course is open to UCSF, UC Berkeley, Stanford and the life science/health care business community.
