Birding Basics
Autumn brings bird migration! Walk the nature trails of Heritage Park with a naturalist and other bird enthusiasts as we search and listen for birds of the season. Discover the basics of birding from the tools you'll need to tips on how to find some amazing birds in your area.

Join us for a fun education celebration as we learn about the Heritage and History Center in Heritage Park! Enjoy old time farm games, museum tours, hayrides and more. Fun for all ages!

Enjoy Family Hayrides this Fall!

Rides leave every 1/2 hour from 5:30-7pm (last ride leaves at 7pm). After the ride, roast marshmallows and sip cider around a cozy campfire! Please register in advance, as hayrides fill quickly.

After the sun goes down, Heritage Park comes alive! Join us on a night hike to listen for nocturnal animals, observe the night sky and heighten your senses along the way! Leave the flashlights at home, as we will be using our natural night vision!

Nature's Little Artists

Explore the natural world of art with your child! Each week we will discover a different nature theme, while using a variety of art mediums to craft masterpieces! Children do not have to be potty-trained, an adult must stay with the child. Dress for the weather for our short outdoor excursions. Pre-registration required.

Scout Saturday

Girl and Cub Scouts can now complete their badge adventures, try-its or Journey sessions with the help of a naturalist! Each session is filled with interactive activities to help meet scout requirements.

Young Explorers

There's still a few spots in the afternoon class of Young Explorers! Children explore a different theme each week as they hike and investigate along the trails. Since this is a drop-off program, please send snack and water with your child and dress them for the weather. We will head outdoors rain or shine! Pre-registration required. Children must be potty-trained.

Walk with a Doc 2013
Wellness Walk & Talk

A FREE health inspired program with Beaumont Health. Health care professionals provide a brief indoor presentation, then answer questions before going enjoying a 30 walk through Heritage Park. Sessions include healthy snacks and free blood pressure screenings. No need to register, just show on up!

*NEW* Homeschool Nature Program
Ages 12-16

Enrich your child's knowledge and connection with the natural world. A naturalist will lead hands-on, memorable experiences outdoors; making new discoveries each week! Meet other homeschool families and supplement your at-home lessons! This is a drop-off program. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather and exploring outdoors.

Wednesdays Sept 18- Nov 20
2:30-4pm Ages: 12-16

Junior Naturalist Club

Learn a new nature topic each month and earn a key chain badge for completing each class. After earning three badges, get a prize! Dress for the weather and exploring outdoors. This is a drop-off class.

Nature Makerspace Experiences!

Design, create and make using nature as the inspiration to solve real-world challenges! Makerspace learning is driven by children's natural curiosity to dream, plan, invent and test. What will they create!?
