September 2018
Greetings!

Do you love fall? Crisp apples? A chill in the air? Heavier sweaters and lighter holidays? With Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur behind us, what’s more fun than a picnic in a Sukkah or a night of Simchat Torah dancing and laughing out loud in synagogue.

The next few days and weeks kick off a fall full of fun in the heart of NJ. How does ladies’ night out with music around a bonfire, henna tattoos, and mala-making sound? How about an adult costume dance for parents of kids K-12? A day trip to national historic landmark, Locust Grove Estate in the Hudson River Valley, with lunch overlooking the water?

Arts and entertainment more your style? Attend a conversation with head writer of the hit Netflix series, Fauda; or a lecture on modernist painter, Marc Chagall. Laugh along with musician/comedian I AM SARGE or tap your toes to the Jewbadors in concert. And don’t miss opening night of the Rutgers Jewish Film Festival!

The new year is off to a sweet start in our Jewish community and the Jewish Federation is proud to help connect people of all ages, interests, and backgrounds to the communal resources and experiences they want and need. Dig into the community calendar and be a part of it.

Meanwhile, the Federation continues its sobering and strategic work enabling this local community to care for people in need, fight anti-Semitism, build connections with Israel, and more. Read our latest annual report to learn how. Thank you, as always, for taking an interest in the work we do and for making it possible through your support.

All my best for a good, new year.
