Books. The Love That Never Fades.
(or forgets to do the dishes)

February is FULL of exciting things, and we can't wait for you to fall in love. Fill out our Book Match survey and allow a librarian to act as literary matchmaker for you. Stop by any of our Pop-Up Library locations around Springfield. Relax with a free yoga session. Discuss hard hitting books by Black authors.
However you want to spend your month, Lincoln Library is here for you.

Join us for our book club, discussing books by Black authors. We are creating this space for Black readers to talk about their experiences and books that reflect them.

Be sure to register!
Lincoln Library cardholders now have access to historical archives of Chicago Defender, a legendary Black newspaper founded in 1905. The Defender played a large role in influencing the Great Migration, attracting the writing talents of Langston Hughes, Gwendolyn Brooks, Ida B. Wells, and many others.

Access the archive from 1909-2010 here!
