LCLGRPB to develop a Regional Recovery and Resiliency Plan
|
|
In June 2020, the Lake Champlain - Lake George Regional Planning Board was awarded a $400,000 CARES Act technical assistance grant from the federal Economic Development Administration to address economic distress as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of this work, the LCLGRPB has contracted with The Chazen Companies and Camoin Associates to complete a Regional Recovery and Resiliency Plan, which will look at a myriad of economic indicators to analyze economic distress and provide a roadmap for recovery of our region.
"We are incredibly excited to be leading this regional recovery planning effort," said Beth Gilles, Director of the LCLGRPB. "We have reached out to industry leaders, both public and private, to assist us in focusing on the needs of the North Country including broadband, cell phone service, public infrastructure, and workforce and provide actionable items to address economic recovery and future resiliency."
The plan is slated for completion in September 2021.

Watershed Action Plan for Lake George
|
|
The Lake Champlain - Lake George Regional Planning Board is working with the Towns of Queensbury, Lake George, Bolton and Hague, as well as the Village of Lake George, the Lake George Association, and the Warren County Planning Department to develop a Watershed Action Plan for Lake George.
The goal of this plan is to develop watershed-wide and site-specific recommendations for water quality improvements in the watershed. Priority issues that have been identified include stormwater runoff, invasive species control, road salt storage and usage, erosion control, and education and outreach.
This plan is being developed with guidance from a Watershed Advisory Committee and a Steering Committee comprised of local officials, water quality organizations, and local stakeholders. Work is funded by a New York State Department of State grant to the Town of Queensbury on behalf of the watershed partners and is anticipated to be completed in December 2022.

The plan identifies a total of 20 projects amounting to approximately $8,000,000 in water quality funding needs throughout the watershed.
