St. Joseph Manor Health Care, Inc.

Where hearts are full and love is overflowing

Greetings!

I hope this October edition of our newsletter finds you doing well.  Autumn is here and our home is decorated to reflect the change in season.  I hope you are enjoying the crisp fall weather.

We are excited for our 2nd Annual Calendar Contest Fundraiser. Please make sure to read about it below. And please support the many businesses who generously donated to our cause.

Last week, we celebrated our Annual Founder's Night, an awards dinner on Friday, October 17th, at the Massasoit Conference Center in Brockton.

Each year, The Founder's Award for Excellence is presented annually to the individual that embodies the Manor's mission: Our Catholic ministry of compassionate healthcare provides person-centered services to people of all faiths in our home and within our community.  In addition, the individual must also exemplify the Manor's values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence.

This year's award was presented to Angelica Ortiz, RN. Her hard work and dedication is consistently recognized by our residents, family members and staff. She is the living definition of our values. We are truly blessed to have her as a part of the Manor family.

Some Highlights about St. Joseph Manor

St. Joseph Manor Celebrates National Pastoral Care Week

St. Joseph Manor Health Care is celebrating National Pastoral Care week from October 19th through the 25th.

The image of this year's theme, "Spiritual Well-Being" highlights "Nourishing the well-spring" which refers to supporting and inspiring the spiritual well-being of ourselves and others amid times of both ease and challenge.  We seek to be present, mindful, compassionate and attuned, knowing that our intentions and actions have a ripple effect on the journeys of others and ourselves.  While the nature of our journeys may vary by the seasons of our lives, our spiritual well-being may include transcendence, meaning and purpose, reconnecting and renewing, service, sacredness, strength, harmony, hope, compassion, creativity, gratitude, forgiveness, and love.

Regardless of faith tradition, whether clergy or not, Pastoral Care Week celebrates those who provide spiritual counseling to others.

Pastoral Care Week gives opportunity for organizations and institutions of all types to recognize the spiritual care given in the midst of the ministry which the caregivers provide.

St. Joseph Manor will have many activities for our staff and residents to celebrate this week. On Wednesday, October 22nd at 2:30pm, there will be the Blessing of Hands in our Chapel for all of our associates.

For more information about Pastoral Care Week, please contact Deb Mayer, Director of Mission Services at 508-583-5834 ext. 3059 or click here to send her an email.
