Fun Fundraising...
Trivia Style!
It was a battle of the brains as 18 teams put their minds to the test! It was a night of fabulous raffles, great food, challenging trivia questions and lots of laughs.

A special shout out to the winners of the night:
Table #8 "Eight is Enough"! (pictured below)
A special thank you to our featured sponsor, Hulton Contracting of Chalfont, PA for their support of our second annual Trivia Night. And thank you to our volunteers, board members and attendees for making the evening such a
huge success!!
Adopt a Shelter Dog Month
October is the perfect month to raise awareness about adopting animals from area shelters. To honor these four-legged pups, consider:

  • donating supplies to an area shelter
  • posting on social media using the hashtag #AdoptAShelterDogMonth
  • making dog toys (click below for instructions)
  • making a batch of Finn's Famous Dog Biscuits (click below for the recipe)
World Homeless Day
October 10th

This day is a reminder to all of us that the homeless population has many needs and to keep in mind the many opportunities that are there for all of us to help.   Consider a family project to bring awareness to your children. We have several projects that benefit the homeless community. Even something as simple as a card of encouragement to lift an individual's spirit. What a great learning opportunity.   #homelessday
Kindness in Action
We know your kids are out there spreading kindness... please tell us about it!  Send us an email to let us know who your child helped and how. Send us a picture and they just might get a special shout out in a Giving Tree future communication piece.

Teens & Tweens
The next Ambassador meeting is
Thursday October 10th 4:30 to 6:30 PM at
St. Rose of Lima parish center in North Wales.

A great opportunity to meet other preteens and teens! Open to students in grades 6 - 12. The cost is just $50 for the school year. (Fall & Winter/Spring sessions are available.)

Bringing Service Learning
to your School
Community service opportunities can empower our youth to make positive and authentic changes in the community.  Hands-on activities, open discussion and reflection are just a few pieces of our program that get students thinking and motivated.  Click the link below for more information on bringing our program to your child’s school.

Nonprofit Spotlight
A Woman's Place
A Woman's Place (AWP), located in Doylestown, is a nonprofit organization committed to the empowerment of women and to ending domestic violence. For 43 years, AWP has served Bucks County by providing free, confidential and comprehensive services and support to victims of domestic violence, their children and the community.

The Giving Tree provides AWP with our signature project of Peace & Smiles Boxes for the children of the individuals experiencing domestic violence. We hope these boxes of crafts and activities can provide a bit of a distraction for the children and brings them warm wishes during an otherwise difficult time.
