Greetings!

The cruise industry continues to plan new ships well into the future. Princess is planning new Regal Class ships to be delivered for at least another three years. We recently featured the latest incredible ship from Celebrity—the Beyond. Not to be left out of the conversation, Royal Caribbean has just announced its newest Oasis Class ship—the Wonder of the Seas. This is truly a mega-ship which will be 4% larger than the current largest ship, the Symphony of the Seas. The Wonder will be able to hold a staggering 6,988 passengers. Just for context, the three original Royal Caribbean ships, the Song of Norway, The Nordic Prince, and the Sun Viking had a passenger capacity of 724! Hoping to lure hesitant passengers back on board, many cruise lines are offering significant incentives. In the small ship category, Azamara just announced this promo which is good through the end of October: Save 20% and get a $500 Onboard Credit on Europe 2022, Winter 2023, a new Caribbean and Canary Islands itineraries. Reservations must be made by October 31, 2021 to take advantage of this promotion.
 
In yet another example, Seabourn Cruises announced the Seabourn Encore is returning to service in February 2022 months earlier than anticipated with a series of Canary Islands and Mediterranean cruises. Prices on these 10-Day voyages start at $3699.00 per person and are available from October 5, 2021. Prices are scheduled to increase on November 30, 2021.

On the land tour side, we met recently with the owner of a Destination Management Company who specializes in customized packages for Italy, Africa and St. Maarten. He reports that reservations for 2022 are booming, and he expects the trend to continue. 
 
We also met with a Business Development Manager for Sandals resorts who affirmed the significant increase in reservations. Sandals is so confident of its business model, it is opening yet another resort in the Caribbean, on a different island, and it is offering a very attractive pre-opening sale.
