We are thrilled to announce that C-STEM Teacher & Student Support Services, Inc. has been awarded a generous $25,000 grant from the Howmet Aerospace Foundation. This support is crucial for the C-STEM Challenge Program, set to be completed by May 16, 2025, and will significantly contribute to closing the STEM achievement gap for minority and economically disadvantaged students.
The C-STEM Challenge is an innovative, hands-on, project-based learning program designed to inspire K-12 students while providing educators with the necessary tools to deliver high-quality STEM instruction. The program's collaborative and interdisciplinary approach integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with real-world problem-solving, helping students gain the skills needed to thrive in today's technology-driven world.
Key Strategies for Impact:
- Interdisciplinary Curriculum: A STEM curriculum focused on real-world applications to make learning both accessible and engaging for all students.
- Teacher Training and Professional Development: Providing educators with CEU's, mentorship, and support to enhance their STEM teaching methods.
- Student Engagement and Mentorship: Connecting students with hands-on projects and STEM professionals to nurture their interest in STEM careers.
- Community and Industry Partnerships: Collaborating with businesses, universities, and community organizations to create enriching opportunities like internships and student scholarships.
