Letter from Director - Chris Somerville

Greetings, from Safe Harbor of Bucksnort

Here at the Bucksnort facility we continue to focus on the betterment of our program operations with emphasis on client care such as: working with our intensive outpatient care program (IOP). This quarter we have instituted two IOP sessions. We are providing an evening and day time IOP session for all of our clients in recovery. I would like to introduce Mr. John Ludwig as our IOP Director. With the efforts of our IOP staff they have greatly increased the level of care for the clients who we serve at Safe Harbor of Bucksnort.

This past quarter we have also put emphasis on the quality of our curriculum and class material. I am thankful for a staff of team members, who have worked on better class presentation material. Their efforts have helped our clients increase their learning and understanding of addiction and recovery. We continue to be innovative in making sure our clients experience the dynamics of change.

God continues to bless us here in Bucksnort. We are thankful for all that we’ve been given and are excited for all that is planned for the future. Safe Harbor of Bucksnort is currently accepting new clients and welcomes anyone who desires help to reach out to us. Our new Admission’s Coordinator, Kevin Collins, can be reached at 615-715-3659 and our Director Chris Somerville can be reached at 931-994-9586. Thank you for all you do and your support. It affects more lives than any man can know.

Staff of the Quarter - James Barnard, Tim Clark, George Vanzandbergen, & Kevin Collins

The four men standing in this photo are the superstars of Bucksnort and have each gone above and beyond for the men of Safe Harbor.

From right to left

Mr. Kevin Collins, who has been with the ministry since August 8th and has been an invaluable asset to the program and to the lives of the men. His dedication and work ethic shows him to be a man of God. We look forward to seeing great things from him in the future.

Mr. Vanzandbergen has been with the ministry 10 yrs and from day one he has been a key staff member. His dedication to recovery and God for these men shows in his classes and his ability to counsel the clients as they work through the program. He has a "can do" attitude and continues to be a rock of consistency with which we can build and improve.

Mr. Tim Clark is often quiet and reserved but don't let that fool you, he has a heart for the Lord and a willingness to press on when others would give up. He has determination. He started as a staff member on 8/21/2022 and has been a rising star here at Bucksnort ever since. There is no doubt with his work ethic and desire to consistently improve himself, he will go far within the Safe Harbor organization.

James Barnard is the newest Program Coordinator on the Safe Harbor team and has proved himself to be reliable, a dedicated team player. Mr. Barnard takes on any new challenge with a YES! He is determined and God minded; reading his bible and keeping the word of God at the forefront of his mind. He is a loving father and loves giving back and helping with client's needs. We hope to see many more years with James as a Christian Soldier fighting on the front lines.

Client of the Quarter

"I came to Safe Harbor in May of 2022. I am here because I made a decision to try and do something different with my life. I had been trying to run my own life and it got me put in jail again as a direct result of my choices. God offered me an opportunity to come to Bucksnort, TN and I grabbed onto it with both hands.

Since coming to Safe Harbor, I have been blessed to be surrounded by people who have guided me in the right direction. I have been blessed to have my wife and children back in my life. All of my success here in this program is a direct result of Jesus Christ working in my life everyday. I have been meeting regularly with the chaplain and working steps. Its through these things that I have maintained sobriety.

I will be graduating the program in November, and I plan on returning home and living a simple life on my farm with my family. This program has led me back to Jesus Christ. I am truly grateful for everything that God has done in my life so far."
