Seasons of Change

As another season changes so it is at Safe Harbor Jefferson County. Reflecting from where we started and where we are now, there's only one explanation! The hand of God!! How He has directed our progress is simply amazing. We knew when we walked on the property that God had something big planned but who really knows until He reveals. He has brought His people together that believe in Safe Harbor to accomplish His work. Thank you to all who support us with your time, finances, and prayers.

We have just cut the ribbon on our new commercial kitchen that was only a vision two years ago and now we have the capacity in that area to serve many more clients searching for true freedom. Many clients and partners have given many hours to see this day come. Just a special thanks to John Wampler, Chuck Davis, Greg McFadden, D&S Builders, Smoky Mountain Metalworks and others who sacrificed time and resources to see this project through, thank you.

Now that we have key infrastructure in place, we can begin on our new residential cottages. We are excited that we have received plans from the architect to begin phase two of the vision to serve more men. It is our desire to start construction on a 16-man cottage by the first quarter of 2023. Please pray for God's wisdom, direction, and resources to move forward.

So that's the update on where we are on our facility but more important than buildings and property is we are seeing men's lives change. Our men are coming to Know God, Finding Freedom, Discovering Purpose, and Making a Difference. With our many volunteers and daily classes men are seeing a real opportunity for success.

Please continue to pray for Gods anointing for all the staff and leadership at Safe Harbor who give their all, above and beyond their compensation to see men’s lives transformed!

Good day all. We would like to congratulate Swaggerty's Farms as Partner of the Quarter. Safe Harbor of Jefferson County partnered with Swaggerty's Farms earlier this year. This has turned out to be an amazing partnership. Swaggerty's been in business for more than 90 years as a family run sausage processing and packaging plant. Many of you reading this have probably enjoyed their product once or twice. Our guys work in the packaging side of the plant and some of them are slated to go full time with the company. Their pay is very competitive with bonuses and the care they take onboarding and orientating new hires is immensely in depth. On top of all that, Swaggerty's also donates more product to our local ministry than we could handle and our clients enjoy their sausage periodically throughout the week for breakfast. We hope to relish many years as partner with Swaggerty's Farms.

Staff of the Quarter - Chris Smith

Chris is the client's Chaplain. He relates with our men like no one else! He loves Jesus and is instrumental in providing an atmosphere of learning. Always initiating ways for our men to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Making a Difference.

So for this we recognize him as Staff of the Quarter!!

"I have been an alcoholic and drug addict for more than half of my life. I have been dependent on no one other than myself for everything. I became a Christian in 2002, but I never fully surrendered myself to God. I have hit bottom so many times. I can live for Jesus for a little while, until things get a little better, then I just go right back to doing things on my own.  



About four months ago, I had found myself at bottom again. I reached out to Safe Harbor the second time. Having been through the program before, I knew that something was still missing in my life, and I knew where I needed to go to find it. After only a short time in the program, I finally gave up control of my life and started putting God first in everything I do. He has given me more blessings than I could ever imagine. I don't know where my life's journey is going to take me, but I can say with all certainty that every step I take and decision I make, it will be with my eye on Jesus. As long as I keep him first, I can’t go wrong."

Battle in the Saddle 10 Year Anniversary

We will be celebrating 10 years of Battle in the Saddle in 2023. Our event date is March 17 - 19, 2023 at the Agricenter Showplace Arena in Cordova, TN. We are so excited to see what God does this year and expect it to be our biggest year to date.
