Pumpkin Party composting

October 9th | 11:30 am - 4:00 pm

We're volunteering at the downtown Pumpkin Party again. Jack-o-lantern "guts" will make their way to our site. A good reminder that YOU can compost your pumpkin guts too.

BUT we'll need your help. Please sign up to volunteer HERE (scroll to Oct. 9th): shifts are 11:30 - 1:30, and 1:30 - 3:30 pm.

Check out these 1917 wartime posters out of Smithsonian Magazine - the message is timeless, don't waste food. And compost the rest.

Save the seeds

Seed saving is an important component of food justice and to the grow-your-own garden lifestyle. It's also a way to save scraps before they end up in the compost heap. Here's our short video on why to save seeds, and our blog post with quick tips on how to do it with different veggies.
