As November draws closer to December and United Against Hate week comes to an end, we are so thankful for the Redwood City community.
Our United Against Hate Week (UAH) events spread love not hate, and we couldn't be more proud of the work that our staff and partners put into them. If you missed the Peninsula Library System virtual events, you can still view the recordings: Savala Nolan gave us a primer on building equity in difficult times and Ali Kamanda taught children about black heroes throughout history. The final event of UAH week is Transgender Day of Remembrance, and it takes place tonight, Monday, November 20, at San Mateo Public Library from 4:30-6:30pm.
As we head into December, we have festive programs to look forward to! Kids can join us for Kid Makers: Holiday Crafts on December 2 and Crafty Wednesdays // Miércoles de Manualidades throughout the month. Winter MakerClub starts on December 20 and we have some surprises in store! During the week of December 11, all storytimes will feature books about holiday celebrations from around the world (and near you!). It’s a great time to learn about neighbors that celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Las Posadas and more. Adults can join us on December 13 for Holiday Makers to add a handmade touch to your holidays. However you celebrate (or don't), we wish you a peaceful season.
