JSRC In the Know
Thursday Night Group Run moves to Asbury Park!
As the birds start to fly south for the winter, it’s time for the Thursday Night Run’s annual migration north to Asbury Park. Starting Thursday, September 26, we will meet at 6pm inside Convention Hall in Asbury Park. Unless there’s an event, you can usually avoid paying for parking by parking in the lot behind the Wonder Bar. Everything else remains the same - typical distance is four to six miles. All paces & experience levels welcome. And we still go out to dinner after the run.
Shore AC Cross Country Series
It's time for the JSRC Cross Country Team to defend its 2018 2nd Place finish in the Shore AC Cross Country Series! All races are about 5K throughout various Monmouth County Parks. We need three men and three women each week to field a full team. Overall team scoring is based on the best four weeks.
No experience necessary! Only $7 per race or $35 for the entire series - just put “JSRC” as your team when you sign in for the race.
Find information or sign up at https://www.shoreac.org/cross-country-series.html . Contact: Mike Procopio, Steve Apostolacus, or Carly Alburtus for more details.

NYRR 2019 New York City Marathon Volunteers
Sunday, November 3 | Central Park, NYC
Once again, the JSRC has been nice enough to arrange for bus transportation to the finish area and back for volunteers.
We will not be collecting money on the bus this year, so you will need to pay through RunSignUp prior to race day.
The cost for volunteers is $10 each.

The bus will leave from the commuter parking lot at Exit 109 of the Garden State Parkway.
The bus leaves at 8 a.m. sharp!
Get there late and all you will see is tire tracks.

Any questions, contact Alan Paschedag
NYC Marathon Volunteers must sign up at: RunSignUp
Beginning October 1, spectators will be allowed to sign up for the bus at $40 each.

NOTE: We will be checking all bus sign ups, if you are not registered to be a volunteer you will be charged as a spectator.

Masha Moro
I just signed up for the April 4, 2020 RunAPalooza
half-marathon run in Asbury Park.
Why? I’m making it my personal goal to run the NYC Marathon on November 1, 2020 to mark my turning 40 this November. I believe the RunAPalooza half will help me get there.
I’m new to running, but can run a 10-minute mile for about four continuous miles fairly easily.
I’m married and we have two boys: 1 and 2 years old. I recently retired from a 13-plus years of Wall Street banking career. Got my NYU MBA in 2015, but after having kids, we decided to permanently move to Monmouth Beach, NJ. I’m now finding myself in need of greater goals outside of raising kids and maintaining a household. I need a new challenge!
I’m looking forward to meeting everyone! I’m happy to be a JSRC member.
New members at our September meeting:
Rick Lee of Bayville.
Joe Hurley from Shark River Hills.
Donna Antyse and Chris Zeiner from Howell. Amanda Collins from Jackson. Amanda has been running for five months! She ran the Fallen Heroes race this year.
Jennifer Schone, from Brick, is Amanda’s mom. Jennifer says "I've been running on and off my whole life, and it’s something I can do with my daughter! " Jennifer also h as done some of our 5Ks.
Join in on the weekend fun with our JSRC Cross Country team 2019! Everyone is welcome to come out and run for team JSRC.
