Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Prudence & Bay Islands Transport!

Waiting Area Construction Resumes

Following the installation of the concrete footings for the waiting area, New England Building and Bridge elected to bring the lumber for the waiting area to their workshop for pre-fabrication. New England Building and Bridge (NEBB) plans to begin re-assembling the pre-fabricated wooden waiting area on site at the Bristol Terminal next week. We are excited to have the long-awaited waiting area in place for the coming winter season.

Following the completion of the waiting area, NEBB should begin replacing the railings around the Bristol Terminal. The railings are the final phase of the Bristol Terminal portion of this project.

Lastly, this coming spring NEBB will need to complete the preventative maintenance work on the gallows on Prudence Island. We will continue to provide updates when we are given a timeline for the start of this final phase of this project.

Prudence Island Parking lot

A few reminders for the Prudence Island Parking lot as we enter the winter season. In the event of snow please do not leave vehicles parked in the center of the parking lot, this area is for day parking only. We will need the center lane clear in order to safely plow the parking lot. As the temperature drops, please use caution walking in the lot and on the dock as these areas can be slippery. From Officer Tavernier - Please do not leave vehicles in the Prudence Lot for extended periods of time. Please leave your vehicle at your home if you will not be using it for weeks at a time. Officer Tavernier can assist with rides to drop vehicles at residences to help keep the lot open and functional.
