Pat's Paragraphs

March 2018

Dear Friends.

We’re excited! At this very moment, Jeff Wood is editing the graphics for the first of our Youtube videos on the state of the dead! “Life Only In Jesus,” is the working title. What does that mean? It means no souls live on after death to burn in the fires of hell (I still have never figured out how a soul suffers the pains of burning), because eternal life exists only in Jesus.

Think this verse: “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” I John 5:11,12.

And who has the Son? “He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son” 2 John 1:9.

Here's another one: “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe in the Son shall not see life” John 3:36.

That seems pretty clear, right?

Conversely, “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him” I John 3:15. Ah, really!? Sinners don’t have ongoing life in hell? Nope. Not according to the Bible. No eternal life for them either in heaven or hell.

Sadly, too many folks don’t know these clear words. And because of that, they easily misinterpret the character of God and misunderstand how He deals with the sin problem. And how He deals with the gift of eternal life! They’re likely to see God as arbitrary and cruel, or on the other hand, as soft on sin, willing to save people who have not overcome.

That’s why I’m so excited to be preparing something that will make it clear in a short, simple, attractive – even entertaining - way!

This first program is developing our method and visual style. A second phase will be development of our market. Not a market we sell to - these little evangelists will be aired free of charge. But it will take planning, time and money to put them in front of people, to build up an audience that responds and shares them. It’s a science we still have much to learn about. Your interest and support are precious, and every bit of help you provide is golden! Thank you!

And if you would continue to support this work until it’s “out there” we’d be most greatful!

God bless you!

Eternal Torment: Fallacious Propaganda

I can’t blame the agnostic for questioning the existence of God; I can’t blame the atheist for rejecting the notion of a Supreme Being. Not in the light of a popular “Christian” view of God.

If I thought for a moment that the traditional understanding of God was accurate, I would eliminate the Divinity from my own worldview!

Listen carefully and you might hear the churchgoers singing:

“What bliss will fill the ransomed souls,
When they in glory dwell,
To see the sinner as he rolls,
In quenchless flames of hell.”
(From a gospel song by Isaac Watts [1674-1748])

Even today you can hear echoes of hellfire and brimstone preacher Jonathan Edwards, consigning lost sinners to excruciating agony in everlasting flames:
“The sight of hell torments will exalt
the happiness of the saints forever.”
(Jonathan Edwards, “The Eternity of Hell Torments”)
Scan the comments on our Beyond Life Facebook page and you’ll see that such glaring, vengeful triumphalism is an all-to-common feature of the religious mindset today.

Preachers and parishioners alike cling to the doctrine of Eternal Torment as if their lives depended on it. They believe with all their hearts that this heinous concept is biblical. But this doctrine is nothing more than fallacious propaganda. It is at the heart of a satanic scheme of disinformation, propagating a warped view of God and His character.

The Bible portrays a time of judgment and punishment. I don’t deny that. But “the wages of sin” is not Eternal Torment. It’s Death! (See Romans 6:23). Unrepentant sinners, rejecters of God’s grace, will suffer eternal loss. They will forfeit immortality. Their end will be oblivion.

This truth is presented clearly in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The alternative to Everlasting Life is not Eternal Torment. It’s Everlasting Death.
