WE WILL NEVER FORGET

Honoring the Fallen, Their Families & The First Responders of 9/11/2001

On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 innocent lives were lost in a tragedy that shook the nation to its core. Today, we solemnly remember those victims and stand with their families, whose lives were forever changed. Their loss is not forgotten—and neither is the strength, grace, and resilience they’ve shown in the years since.

We also honor the extraordinary heroism shown that day by first responders and military personnel who rushed into danger without hesitation. Their courage and sacrifice remind us of the best of humanity in the face of its darkest moments. At Fisher House Kansas City, we are proud to support the loved ones of those who serve, knowing that the spirit of 9/11 lives on not only in remembrance—but in service, sacrifice, and compassion.

Happy Birthday to Our US Air Force

Happy Birthday to the United States Air Force! We salute your 77 years of service, innovation, and unwavering dedication to protecting our skies and freedom. Thank you for keeping us safe, and thank you to your families who sacrifice so much.

Thanks to Those Who Give

As we prepare for fall at the house, we want to once again thank Bill & Judy Padgett for their patio heater donation; we are about ready to go into high use mode, and it was such a thoughtful gift. We can't do it without these generous souls, whether its a food donation, a piece of needed equipment or cash - we love and thank you all.

Returning Heroes Home

How DISA supports DPAA’s mission to bring the missing back to their families

Every U.S. Warfighter who answers the nation’s call carries a solemn promise: they will never be forgotten. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency lives up to that promise by working to recover and identify Defense Department personnel still unaccounted for as prisoners of war or missing in action.

With teams spanning 46 countries, DPAA’s mission requires a blend of expertise, from excavation specialists and divers to forensic scientists and data analysts. The agency operates laboratories in Hawaii and Nebraska to identify missing service members and return them home.
