The Heart of Our Centers

At Loveland Center, we are grateful for the tireless efforts of our Direct Support Professionals DSPs who make a difference in the lives of our participants every day. We want to take a moment to express our appreciation for their dedication and hard work. Our DSPs are the backbone of our organization, and we couldn't do what we do without them. They provide essential support and care to our participants, helping them to live their lives to the fullest.

We recognize that being a DSP is not an easy job, and we want to thank them for their commitment to our mission. They work tirelessly to create a safe and nurturing environment for our participants, and they do so with compassion and professionalism. We are proud to have such a dedicated team of DSPs at Loveland Center, and we want them to know that their hard work and dedication are deeply appreciated.

So, to all of our DSPs, thank you for being the Love in Loveland Center. You are truly making a difference in the lives of our participants, and we are grateful for all that you do.

Center Spotlights

We take great pride in supporting and encouraging our participants to pursue their interests and passions. We are thrilled to share the news that Morgan, one of our talented participants, has been making great strides in his artistic journey. He has been showcasing his incredible talents and pushing himself to explore new areas of interest. Morgan's love for illustration is truly inspiring, and we are honored to have been a part of his journey so far.

Not only has Morgan been making impressive progress in his art, but he has also been socializing more with his peers and staff. He has even taken on the task of changing the daily schedule board, adding his own personal touch. We are so proud of Morgan's hard work and dedication, and we can't wait to see what he will accomplish next. Congratulations Morgan on your incredible achievements!

We are proud to recognize Jason for his outstanding qualities of kindness and compassion. He is a true inspiration for all of us at Loveland Center Port Charlotte. Jason's caring attitude towards his fellow participants in the ADT program is nothing short of remarkable. He is always there to lend a helping hand and provide support whenever needed. In addition to his involvement in his church and his love for working out at the Franz Ross YMCA, Jason has also been an ambassador for Loveland Center in community outings. Jason's recognition is well-deserved, and we are grateful to have him as a part of our Loveland Center family. Congratulations Jason on your achievements!

Board Member Spotlight

Meet Kimberly Rubino

Kimberly Rubino is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and moved to Charlotte County in 2004. After graduating from Lemon Bay High School, Kimberly attended Florida International University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. After graduating from FIU, Kimberly attended Stetson University College of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree in May 2017. Kimberly has always had a love and passion for animals. While in law school, Kimberly interned at Tampa Zoo with their in-house counsel, was President of the Animal Legal Defense Fund, and was even sworn in as an attorney at Tampa Zoo after passing the Florida Bar Exam.

Currently, Kimberly is the civil litigation attorney for the McCrory Law Firm, where she handles many different areas of law including construction litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, breach of contract matters, will and trust contests, and more. Prior to becoming a civil attorney, Kimberly was an Assistant State Attorney for the 20th Judicial Circut where she was able to prosecute both misdemeanor and felony crimes, as well as utilize her skills and passions to prosecute specialized tracks for domestic violence and animal abuse crimes.

Kimberly was introduced to Loveland Center by our VP of Programs, Becca Eldredge during their Leadership Charlotte Program. Kimberly was immediately drawn towards Loveland's mission, having experienced firsthand the everyday fight for inclusivity with her older sister Krystal.

Kimberly's family has always worked to live up to Loveland's mission; for example, Kimberly and Krystal performed in dance competitions together as kids, Krystal would ride roller coasters (while Kimberly watched), the whole family would go boating and tubing, and so many more adventures. Kimberly is honored to have joined the Loveland Center.

Spotlight on HERO

Loveland Center's HERO Helping Everyone Realize Opportunities program has been a huge success in North Port, providing after-school care for school-aged children aged 4-21, which includes those in a high school transition program. The program runs year-round, Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm until 6:30 pm. Excitingly, the program will soon be expanding to the Port Charlotte location. The HERO participants have been keeping busy, recently creating a jellyfish craft and enjoying an outing to McDonald's. This program is an excellent opportunity for children to learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. Mission Moments

Say "Aloe" to My Little Friend

Loveland Center Port Charlotte took their participants on a fun and educational outing to Peace River Botanical Sculpture Gardens in Punta Gorda. During their visit, participants had the opportunity to select an aloe vera plant and pot it themselves. This hands-on activity not only allowed them to practice their skills, but also provided a sense of accomplishment as they were able to take their plant home. Loveland Center Port Charlotte regularly organizes outings like this to promote socialization, learning, and enjoyment among their participants.

"Dewey" Belong Together?

We are proud of Patrick from our North Port center for his accomplishment of selecting and checking out a book on a recent trip to a local library. Loveland Center is committed to providing its participants with the opportunity to engage with the community and develop important skills through its community integration program. By organizing weekly trips to various community locations, such as libraries, museums, and parks, we help individuals with disabilities gain confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. Our mission is to help our participants live their lives to the fullest, and we believe that community integration plays a crucial role in achieving that goal.
