Halloween Costumes and School Schedules

Halloween is right around the corner and we want our families to know what is acceptable for costumes to make this a positive and fun environment for all. We ask for your support in helping students to comply with these rules:
  • Costumes must comply with the school dress code, be age-appropriate (no R-rated themes), and be respectful to others.
  • Students will not be allowed to wear masks or full face paint at school or school activities.
  • To maintain our Zero Tolerance Policy regarding the presence of weapons on school campuses, students' costumes may not include pretend weapons and/or explosives. Toy guns, swords, knives, or martial arts weapons, etc., are not allowed and will be confiscated if brought to school.
  • We are also asking for your cooperation in NOT allowing your children to dress up as clowns due to the possible disruption and fear it may cause given recent posts on social media. Any student arriving at school in a clown costume will be asked to change.
Costumes are not expected or required on Halloween, but if your young teen decides to dress up, please help select a costume that supports our effort to provide a positive and fun environment.
In addition, please note that Friday, October 28th is a minimum day
with students released at  12:30 p.m . However,
Monday, October 31st is a
regular day
for middle school students, with a dismissal time of
3:11 p.m.
