A call to action for our community
We are asking for our community's help to "move the needle" in the important discussion of the state's participation in school facilities funding. 
Letters can be printed from here
or are available at school sites. Please return them to school sites or the district office by February 17. We are asking community members not to mail them. We would like to collect them and deliver them to the state in a large stack. Our Assemblymember Catharine Baker has offered to walk them to the Governor's Office with our Board President.

What is Normal?  
The Fallon Middle School Counseling Department, in coordination with The Hume Center, invite FMS parents to attend a Parent Education event, on March 3rd, Thursday (7-8pm)  focusing on: 
1. Typical developmental changes for children in middle school and
2. Strategies to support developing adolescents.

Elective Course Information for Parents of Current 5th Graders
Fallon Middle School will be hosting an Elective Course Information Night from   6:30-7:30pm   on   Monday, February 22nd   for parents of next year's 6th-grade students. This will be an opportunity for parents to ask questions about elective course choices for next year. Students currently in 5th grade at Amador, Dougherty, Green, and Kolb elementary schools will receive Elective Course Preference sheets from their teachers on that same date, and the completed forms are due back to their teachers on   Thursday, February 25th . The only topic to be addressed at this brief meeting on   February 22nd   will be elective choices, and the evening is for parents only. A more comprehensive parent information night will be scheduled later in the spring.

Sixth and Seventh Grade Information Night

Please join us at our   2016 Course Electives Planning Evening on Monday, February 29th
at 6:00pm in the Fallon multi purpose room. The evening will be filled with elective information on courses available to next year's 7th and 8th students. 
This evening is intended for parents only as students will be receiving the same information during the school day. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

AVID Informational Meeting for Parents
FMS is holding an informational meeting in the MPR on Wednesday, February 24th
at 6pm. This meeting is for parents and guardians of students who are interested in applying for the 7th or 8th grade AVID elective. This is a chance to hear about the AVID program and elective expectations from the AVID elective teachers and past AVID students.

8th Grade Events

8th Grade End of the Year Dance

The 8th Grade  Black and White dance will
 be a themed night of celebration for your student and will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016  at t he Shannon Community Center in Dublin. 
For permission slip and guidelines please click here. Everyone who wants to come to the dance needs to have the bottom part of this permission slip filled out and signed. The signed forms can be dropped off at the student support desk by Friday April 29th.
Even if you think you have paid during Fall check in, the permissions slips have to  be turned in.

Baby Ads for Yearbook
Baby Ads have been extended. There are only 15 spots left for 8th grade baby ads. The ads are due Feb.15.   Please see the  attached flyer   for more information.

Dublin High School is holding their Future Freshman Open House on March 2nd for 8th grade parents and their students. The evening begins at 6:30pm in the Sports Complex and will be followed by classroom visits. Make sure to "SAVE THE DATE"!

8th Grade End of Year Field Trip 
Thank you to parents of 8th-graders for returning the "intent to participate" forms for the end-of-year field trip. Based on the number of students who expressed interest, the school will develop a budget and work with the Associated Student Body and PFC to raise necessary funds. If you have not yet had a chance to donate to this event, please see Mrs. Armanuse in the Fallon office.

Please support the Fallon Band and Color Guard by visiting Pizza Guys between Feb.5-Feb.15. If you mention the Fallon Band or show the  attached flyer. Please note that this offer is valid for take-away pizza only.  If you mention the Fallon Band or show the attached flyer, Fallon Band gets 50% of the price of each pizza.
