Families are joyous this season because of you!

In this season of giving, we are so glad to share that our Adopt-A-Family Holiday program and shopping experience were a huge success! Close to $1,000 was raised over #GivingTuesday to purchase gifts, grocery store gifts cards and toiletries for families supported by The Arc. We had 32 families adopted this year, and many others came to the Holiday Shopping Experience this past Saturday! Our Young Professionals Network Luminaries partnered with our Outreach Department to make it a welcoming and joyous event.

We are privileged to connect those who can give gifts with families who need a hand. We heard gratitude from a mom dropping off gifts for family she adopted – “ My 14 year old daughter said she didn’t want gifts for the holiday, that she wanted to adopt a family and give to them. This was all her doing.” Also, when a Dad arrived to pick up gifts for his family – “We are going to have so much fun seeing our son open these gifts. Please share our thanks with everyone who made this possible.” Together, with corporate sponsors, individual donors, and The Arc staff and board members, over 80 food baskets went to families, as well as many grocery store gift cards and other shopping cards.

Thank you to our community members and volunteers! Over 20 volunteers from the Luminaries, The Arc staff and board helped escort guests, poured hot cocoa, and wrapped gifts! We had 19 generous community organizations , as well as 40 individual donors make this holiday the best ever for MANY families!
