Welcome to week 26 of the WMHT Family Activities Newsletter.
This weekly family newsletter is providing resources for children’s growing and learning throughout the winter months.
The "Learn Along" Bingo theme for this week is Acting it Out
I hope you find this helpful!

Theme: "Learn Along" Bingo: Acting it Out
Welcome to "Learn Along" Bingo with PBS Kids!  Dramatic play is important because it helps us to develop language and communication skills as we learn about the world and those in it.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
This week’s booklet offers several activities encouraging children to explore their imagination. They can make finger puppets and use them to act out stories. Did you use the Dinosaur Train puppets to tell a story? Or maybe the Sesame Street muppets?

Daniel Tiger Pretend Play at Home
Children love to pretend play other characters and situations. Using these suggestions, and props you find at home, help your child use their imagination to create people and places they want to go.
Grades 1-2
Check into this packet for simple projects creating stories and their characters, allowing children to put themselves into the story. You can use the Arthur Play Maker script to create your own story line, and even decide which character you want to play. Maybe you will use the Xavier Riddle story cubes to create an adventure story.
Arthur’s Restaurant Dramatic Activity
Many children like to engage in pretend play of real-life occupations. Use this activity from Arthur to create a restaurant setting. Take turns role-playing customers, wait staff (taking orders by writing or drawing), cooks, and cashiers.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Use this activity template to create your own story book from the Very Hungry Caterpillar. If you cannot read the book online or find the book at the library, use your imagination to create a story of what a caterpillar might eat each day.
