Theme: Holiday Traditions
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids! Explore some crafts and activities to do with family members.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
These popsicle stick ornaments are perfect for the holiday season and don't require many supplies! You will need about a dozen wooden craft sticks for each ornament, some buttons or other decorations, string and glue. Try markers or crayons to color each stick, and add beads, glitter, or colored rice as decorations. Did you make some to share with others?

      Daniel Tiger Family Recipe
When talking with parents and other family members, ask what special recipes they remember. Use this family recipe card from Daniel Tiger to write the supplies and directions. Did you make the recipe for the holiday?

Grades 1-2
This year make some gifts to share with family and friends. Combine these directions from Nature Cat and simple materials, to make fun stuffed toys. Did you make Nature Cat and Daisy?

    Napkin Ring Craft
Turn index cards and a paper towel roll into napkin rings in just a few simple steps! To create a holiday theme, design holly leaves or Christmas tree shapes. Experiment with glitter to decorate your shapes, and substitute school glue for the hot glue gun. Use these napkin rings at all your family dinners throughout the holidays.

Focus on What Matters This Season
Holidays can include special times making memories and having fun with friends and family. And special times can mean more than packaged gifts. These tips can help families rethink wish lists and prioritize time together, making a switch to giving fewer toys and enjoying more experiences this holiday season.
