Theme: Learn Along Bingo:
Community Helpers
Welcome to Learn Along Bingo with PBS Kids! This week children will learn people have the power to help each other. Learning how to work together helps communities grow stronger.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
This week explore all the people we depend upon throughout our communities. Activities include individuals such as teachers, fire fighters, medical staff, chefs and postal carriers. Did you make some hats and badges?

Sesame Street Health & Safety Check
Print this chart from Sesame Street, and mark the days you keep yourself healthy. Label each column as a day of the week.  Did you complete each activity?
Grades 1-2
Activities in this section explore ways you can learn about the people who care about you and work to keep your family safe. Did you use the supermarket cards to create a shopping activity? What were your daily specials?

    Dairy Helpers
Many of us rely on dairy products as part of our daily diet, and farmers in our communities maintain cows that produce milk. Watch this short video from Valley PBS to learn about dairy cows and how important dairy products are to a healthy diet. How do you use dairy products in your daily foods?

America’s Test Kitchen Young Chefs’ Club
As we celebrate Earth Day 2021 with the theme Restore our Earth, we think of natural processes such as growing plants in our communities. A fun way to continue the growing process is to re-grow from a plant. This activity demonstrates how to regrow scallions. This same method can be used with garlic, leeks, shallots, and the bottom of a celery or fennel bulb. Another idea is to regrow the tops (where the leaves and stems join onto the root) from carrots, turnips, and other root crops. Place the tops in a container of water and new, green tops should begin to grow in a matter of days.
