Welcome to week 22 of the WMHT Family Activities Newsletter.
This weekly family newsletter is providing resources for children’s growing and learning throughout the winter months.
The "Learn Along" Bingo theme for this week is Sharing Your Creativity.

Theme: "Learn Along" Sharing Your Creativity
Welcome to "Learn Along" Bingo with PBS Kids!  This week, we're learning about how making and experiencing music and movement helps us express ourselves, alone or with others.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
This week’s packet offers activities for children to make instruments and create their own songs. Maybe you will play the Step-by-Step Dance Game, or make the shaker craft from Pinkalicious & Peterrific. Have fun!
Sesame Street Monster Music Game
Elmo and his friends are making music. Try the fruit & vegetable music, beat trash can lids with Oscar, or play guitar with Abby. Maybe do all 4 games!
Grades 1-2
In this activity packet check out six Cyberchase musical instrument crafts using simple home materials. Will you make the Straw Trombone, or maybe the Kazoo? Or maybe all six!
Cyber Pattern Player
Musical beats are a great way to learn about mathematical patterns. Try this Cyber Pattern Player game from Cyberchase. Experiment with various sounds and beats to make your own music.

December Baking Continues
These deep, dark, chocolatey Crinkle Cookies are also known as “earthquakes” because of all the cracks that break through their snow-white surface during baking. You will need help with baking in the oven. Can you wait until they cool before you eat one?

Water Xylophone

Investigate ways to create different pitch, tones, and sounds by creating your own glass bottle water xylophone. You will need several glass bottles or jars, wooden spoons or chopsticks, and water. Create a color xylophone by adding food coloring to make each one a different color!
