Theme: Thanksgiving
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids! This week celebrates Thanksgiving. Join with family and friends and explore some of the activities below.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Thanksgiving can be a day to celebrate time with family, eat good food, play games together, and appreciate all that we are thankful for in our lives. Think about things you are grateful for, and create this thankful turkey. Start with construction paper, scissors and tape. Make a few feathers and then add more throughout the holiday season.
       Family Favorites
Holidays are time for family gatherings. Using this Family Favorites sheet from Daniel Tiger, talk with your family about their favorite things. Add them to the sheet. Did some people have the same favorites?

Grades 1-2
Spend some family time discussing what you are thankful for this year. Using these directions, create your own family time capsule. Work with family members to write down everyone’s ideas, and put them in the container. Plan to bring it out next year to read what everyone wrote.

    Family Traditions Booklet
Explore family and culture by making a book about your family's activities and traditions. This holiday season talk with family members to learn their stories and special family memories. Add in the booklet your plan for special things you want to do as a family.

Roasted Green Beans
Thanksgiving dinner often includes the green bean mushroom soup casserole. This year try a new take on the green vegetable. This roasted green bean recipe combines beans with oil, lemon, and a pinch of sugar for a more simple and healthy side dish. What did your family think? Did everyone like it?
