Theme: Family Fun & Games
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids! Spend some family time playing games together!
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Practice matching up animal body parts with this fun activity. Print the animal cards, then work with family members to match up specific animals. Talk about the similarities and differences in each animal. Who in your family made the most matches?
Ready Jet Go! Jets Solar System Game
Invite friends or family members to play a solar system game with you. Print the game board and pieces from Ready Jet Go! You may want to tape the game sheet onto thick cardboard, to make a sturdier board. Collect tape, scissors, and crayons or markers to compete the game pieces. Now you are ready to play!
Grades 1-2
Bartering is when people trade goods and services, without using money. Practice the tradition of bartering and trading as you try to get the best supplies to complete a building challenge. Print out the instructions and challenge cards from Molly of Denali. Then collect a variety of recycled materials and craft supplies. Invite friends and family members to play and create objects with you.
Hero Elementary: Catch You Later Pollinator Game
Create a pollinator game to play with friends and family. First print out all the game parts. Assemble the game board by taping the 4 pages together. Cut out the pollinator pieces, and ask for adult help folding each into a box shape. If you choose, substitute Dollar Store dice in place of the craft ones. Also uncooked rice can replace the whole peppercorns. How many pollen pieces did you collect?

Kids Games to Play Together as a Family
Playing games together — whether they are digital games, board games, or party games — are a great way to spend quality time together as a family. These weeks combine school break with family get-togethers, and families are looking for activities to share. Check out these game tips from PBS Kids for Parents.
