Theme: Easter Activities
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids!  Easter is a fun holiday to celebrate because it is the first sign of spring arriving. Bright colored eggs brighten up the dreary colors of winter and welcome in the warm days of spring.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Spring is here! Hop to this bunny craft with just a few toilet paper rolls and some paint. Once you're done playing with the bunnies, you can stuff little bags of jelly beans or candy eggs inside and tuck them in a basket. Did you make some for friends?

       Easter Egg Wreath
Get ready for Easter by making an Easter Egg Wreath. Look through the craft or Dollar for plastic eggs. Get creative and sort the eggs into colors and patterns in a circle. You will need adult help using a glue gun to shape the wreath.  Where will you hang your Easter decoration?

Grades 1-2
Create Easter Bunny art inspired by snowshoe hares and jackrabbits! They are both a species of hare – one large and brown, the other medium size and white. You can use construction paper, or collect paint sample strips from the paint department in a large store. Then, explore to find out if rabbits or hares live in your community.
    Rabbits vs Hares
We know so little about rabbits and hares that most of us couldn’t tell them apart! Watch this video from Nature: Remarkable Rabbits to learn about the unique differences between these two animals. Follow by by watching New England Cottontail. When you watch Antelope Jackrabbit check out the size of the ears and hind legs.

The Nose Knows
Easter is coming and for many children that means jelly beans. Experiment with a super easy taste test to decide if what you smell can change what you taste. All you need is a bag of Jelly Belly jelly beans, and some friends to work this experiment with you. The blindfold is optional, you can close your eyes tightly. How did it work for you and you friends? Were you able to actually taste the different flavors?
