Theme: Reading and Story Activities
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids!  Reading helps children learn new words, concepts, and how to express themselves.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Enjoy this Between the Lions story about two different mice! Cyril, lives in the city, and wishes for a little peace and quiet. Cindy lives in the country and thinks it would be nice to have a little more excitement. Watch what happens when they change places. Do you think you might want to change where you live?
       Wild Kratts Bookmarks
Book marks are used to mark or hold the place we left off when reading a book.  Print these bookmarks from Wild Kratts. Cut them out, and use them in your storybooks. Did you find some Wild Kratts story books at the library?

Grades 1-2
Create your own adventure story with Wild Kratts. Print the sheet, and begin planning your story. Think about what is in the story, and where the action takes place. When you start writing and drawing, you will need to add extra pages. Did you draw pictures with your story?
    Arthur Memory Book
Create a book about your family story. Collect paper, a hole punch, and fasteners to make the booklet. Talk with family members about their stories, and write them on the pages. You could even add pictures!  Did you add a story of your own?

The days can get so busy, and sometimes children spend more time on their digital devices than usual. It happens. One great strategy for finding time to spend together as a family - Reading!   Here are four ideas to inspire your family to spend more time together through the act of reading and reading aloud.
