Theme: New Year Routines
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids!  A new year has started! Explore ways to organize activities for the coming year.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Set time aside to create a new year calendar. Organize your activities, such as chores, homework and play time. Write or draw pictures on the calendar. Where will you hang the new year calendar?

       Plan Your Day Booklet
Create a booklet of healthy habits to start the new year. Print and color the cards from Sesame Street. If you like, cut out and glue each card on a sheet of paper. Write or add pictures of how you completed each activity. Can you think of more healthy activities to add to your booklet?

Grades 1-2
Use this weekly planner to prepare for the days ahead and keep track of weekly schedules. You will need colored paper and magnets. Look for a roll or magnet strip at the craft store. Then cut off several magnets the exact size you need. You can set the calendar on large cookie sheets, and it becomes a movable calendar.
    Fun Time Spinner Craft
Create a Fun Time Spinner with activities you can do alone. Follow that with a second spinner of family-friendly activities you can do with others after school or on the weekends. Look for sturdy paper plates, or put two plates together so it spins easily. Ask an adult to help make the pencil hole in the center.
