Theme: "Learn Along" Bingo: Light & Shadow
Welcome to "Learn Along" Bingo with PBS Kids!  This week, we're investigating light and shadows. We will learn that some materials block light creating a dark shadow on any surface beyond them, where the light cannot reach.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Check into this packet for a variety of activities using puppet figures and light. You can make Daniel Tiger, Dinosaur Train, Peg & Cat, Sesame Street and other stick puppets. Which ones did you make?

 How Shadows Work
Try this outdoor shadow activity. You will need chalk and a camera to track your progress. Make sure to bundle up with warm clothes in this weather!

Grades 1-2
Try these activities to explore how light and opaque objects create shadows. Create a shadow puppet show with Cat in the Hat or Nature Cat.

 Sun Prints
Experiment with this interesting sun print activity. In place of garden plants, look for silk or plastic flowers and leaves at a $1 store. Even small flat shapes could be used. Hang your sun print in a window.
