Nov. 23rd-27th Family Activities Newsletter

Welcome to week 19 of the WMHT Family Activities Newsletter.
This weekly family newsletter is providing resources for children’s growing and learning throughout the fall and winter months.
The "Learn Along" Bingo theme for this week is Gratitude!
I hope you find this helpful!

Theme: "Learn Along" Bingo Gratitude
Welcome to "Learn Along" Bingo with PBS Kids!  Expressing our gratitude shows others how we feel when they help us.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Gratitude is about expressing our feelings to friends and family.  Here are several activities to do at home. Check out the Sesame Street Thank You Notes – can you think of someone you might give a card to?

Kindness Loops
Kindness Loops are interlocking paper loops that help children understand how to show kindness and gratitude. Make these Daniel Tiger Loops together, or a child can make them on their own. Write or draw something you are thankful for on each loop.
Grades 1-2
Gratitude is to think about things we appreciate and are thankful for. Using this activity packet, you can draw, write, and talk about the many things you are grateful for. How many things are on your list?
Hip, Hip, Hurray for Family

Print this Word Girl sheet to write a message to someone in your family. Tell them how special they are, and how much you appreciate them. Don’t forget to write your name at the bottom!

Giving & Keeping
Generosity is the act of being kind, generous, and an ability to give to others.  Play this Arthur’s Giving & Keeping Game. What choices will you make with the box of chocolates?

Roasted Broccoli

Roasting just might be the BEST way to cook broccoli! Check out this easy way to make a healthy side vegetable with the family dinner.  This recipe comes from America’s Test Kitchen Young Chefs’ Club.
