Theme: Valentines
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids!  Valentine’s Day is February 14th. Explore several different valentine activities.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Make your own Valentine’s Day cards this year with heart stamps made from recycled cardboard tubes! Perfect for some messy, yet inexpensive fun. Gather several cardboard tubes, craft paints, paint brushes, and cardstock or other heavy paper. You may need to cover your work table and wear an apron.

      My Eye On You Card
Turn a simple gift tag and googly eyes into an adorable and clever Valentine's Day card! Try making your own gift tag from cardstock or heavy paper by drawing the tag shape and cutting it out. Remember to make a hole at the top to attach ribbon or yarn. Find googly eyes at craft stores or make your own from white and black paper. Did you make several for friends and family members?

Grades 1-2
Show you care with these colorful hearts that you can make with simple supplies. You will need wire hangers, tissue paper, beads and yarn. Ask an adult to help you open and bend the wire hanger into a heart shape. Experiment with different materials on each hanger. How many did you make?

    Heart Apple Chips
Try this delicious, sweet and simple snack on Valentine’s Day. Enjoy them yourself or package them as a lovely gift for someone special. You will need adult help cutting the apples and using the oven. If you can’t find a heart shaped cookie cutter, a round one will do. Did you share them with friends?
