Theme: Sharing Your Creativity Through Art
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids! Summer break is here, what better time to explore new activities.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
This special collection of resources is designed to get children and parents singing, dancing, drawing, and laughing. Enjoy hands-on activities from Sesame Street, Let’s Go Luna, Peg + Cat, Pinkalicious, and others.

       Sock Puppet
Creating a puppet is a great way to reuse a single sock. These directions from Sesame Street will get you started. Supplies you can add to your puppet include; string or yarn, buttons or google eyes, scraps of material, construction paper, and markers. Maybe you can invite a friend to bring their own sock and have a sock puppet-making party.
Grades 1-2
This week’s collection contains a variety of art and music activities from Lets Go Luna!, Scribbles & Ink, and Pinkalicious. Also, gather some friends and create musical instruments using directions from Cyberchase.
    Sidewalk Chalk
From hopscotch to street art, sidewalk chalk opens up a world of ways to play! It will take three days for this sidewalk chalk recipe to become hard enough to use. So, you will need to be patient. Supplies include plaster of paris and tempera paint. When it has dried, invite a friend to share and make sidewalk – driveway drawings.

Tomato and Peach Salad
Tomatoes and peaches are at their ripest (and juiciest!) in summer, making this salad a perfect picnic side dish. Ingredients are simple – tomatoes, peaches, shallot or onion, oil and lemon. Be sure to let the tomatoes drain before mixing in the salad. Did you add fresh mint to your salad?
