Theme: Autumn Activities
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids! October means changes in our weather and the nature around us. Discover some outdoor fun in the activities below.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Now that fall is here, most butterflies are gone. But you can still play a butterfly hide & seek game inside with this Curious George activity. Print the sheet, color your butterfly, and find a spot it will blend in.

Sesame Street Autumn Walk Leaf Observations
This Sesame Street activity shows you how to make leaf art from leaves you can collect on an autumn nature walk. First collect a variety of leaves, then observe the colors, textures and shapes. Create your own art work from the leaves.

Grades 1-2
What can you discover while exploring at night? Create your own nighttime observation kit and like Elinor, begin exploring what’s outside your front door after dark. What did you see? What did you hear?

    Nature Cat Scavenger Hunt
It’s time to explore the fall season! Using this Nature Cat sheet, take a walk around your neighborhood and see if you can find the listed items. Check the box for each item you find. For the empty boxes, you can draw in what you found.

Kids are returning to school this fall, and adjusting to new daily routines. Many parents are looking to retool screen time and activity schedules. Here are four ideas to extend the learning and fun of your family’s favorite PBS KIDS shows and characters to off-screen activities.
