Theme: Halloween Fun
Welcome to family activities with PBS Kids!  October 31st is almost here. Many families celebrate with costumes, parties, and neighborhood trick or treating. Check out some fun Halloween crafts below.
Two age level areas are available – PreK-K and Grades 1-2.
PreK-K
Create these cute bats to hold small bags of candy for friends or set up as table decorations. Print the bat wing template, collect cardboard rolls, a brown bag, black paint and some glue. Did you make some for your entire family?
       Halloween Bat Trees
This Halloween, decorate your house with these bat trees using simple supplies. First gather your supplies - scissors, black paper, glue gun, pencil, and thin branches from the yard. You can substitute cardboard for an index card, and use tape in place of a hot glue gun. To change the design, tape your bats to long pieces of yarn and hang them around the house. Did you add googly eyes to your bats??

Grades 1-2
Make your own haunted house using this fun Halloween craft for all ages. You will need craft paper, glue, scissors and crayons. Draw spooky creatures in the windows of your lift-the-flap haunted house. Did you make this craft with a friend?
    Odd Squad Glowing Ghost Jugs
Get ready for Halloween tricks and treats with these ghostly decorations for your sidewalk, front porch, or trick-or-treat set up. All you need are clean plastic milk jugs, magic markers, and glow sticks or tea lights. You will need adult help with cutting the jug, and handling the tea lights. How many did you make?

PBS Parents Happy Halloween
Halloween is a time when we participate in activities that we don’t regularly do, which can affect children in different ways. Things can be overwhelming to a child’s feelings and senses, and normal behaviors are sometimes forgotten.
