Family Center Expansion Newsletter and Stewardship Report
Vol. 5 - January 18, 2021

Dear Friends,

Today, as we recognize the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we take the opportunity on this Day of Service to look back at the progress we have made and forward to the bright future ahead. Our community is facing unprecedented challenges in many ways, and Dr. King's teaching continues to inspire hope for the future. Thanks to our generous donors and community, our YMCA is moving rapidly toward completion of our long-planned Family Center Expansion, a project that represents the committed community-building efforts of thousands of people.

We look to a future that is filled with the promise of our community, friends and neighbors coming together, in support of one another, continuing to share safe spaces to learn, grow and thrive. Our community needs a strong YMCA more than ever. We are in the homestretch with fully funding our Family Center Expansion project. Our new eight-lane pool and double-sized sports gymnasium will enable our Y to serve the community in new and broader ways, incorporating enhanced health and safety standards that have become even more important at the Y this year.

Our vision goes deeper than a pool. Together, we are expanding our facility to meet the growing and changing needs of our community. Read on to learn more about our construction progress including a look at our 2020 Year in Review video, learn how your donation is helping to shape the future, and read about how you can take part in our Homestretch Challenge to help build for generations to come!

Sincerely,

Diane Mann

We are happy to report we have received more than $9.39 million in community giving in support of the Family Center Expansion Project to date from more than 870 donors. Our goal is to raise $10.5M by June 2021. Thank you to our many generous donors!
Family Center Expansion Progress: 2020 Year in Review
Build by the Numbers
1,100... The number of tons of stone backfill around the pool.

900... The total linear feet of PVC pipe for the Aquatics Center plumbing.

268,000... The number of tons of water that will fill our new Aquatics Center pools.
But our purpose is deeper than a pool...

140... The number of donors who gave in the month of December 2020, to help make our vision a reality.

Thank you to all of our donors! Together, we can build a better us.
Beyond Our Walls
With four new walls intact, let's talk about the future. Inside the walls of our expansion there will be people of all ages participating in programs to better themselves.

Our hundreds of donors have made this important capital expansion possible. Because of you, we can build an enduring future and renew our community. We started this effort three years ago and our donors have been with us through all phases of the project. Thank you for being part of our Y community as we build for the future!

Paving the Way Campaign
Walk This Way

As we continue to build for the future, a great way to be part of the Y's history and leave your legacy for future generations is with our paver donations! Honor your friends and family, or say thank you to a front-line hero with a lasting donation in their name through our Paving the Way Campaign. The pavers will be used to create the walkway to the second entrance to the Madison Area YMCA’s Family Center. The Paving the Way Campaign supports our Capital Campaign to expand the Madison Area YMCA. Paver donations are $250 each and are tax deductible.

Time is running out! Honor your Valentine with a paver! The deadline to donate a paver is Sunday, February 14.

TOGETHER WE CAN BUILD A BETTER US
Recognizing the needs of our members and neighbors, and the challenges and limitations of our current facility, the Madison Area YMCA has launched a community fundraising campaign to expand our Y and to continue our mission of providing financial assistance to those who need us. With your help, we will provide additional services to encourage a healthy and active community. Together, we will connect neighbors and families, strengthening the social bonds that promote understanding. Through your generosity, the YMCA mission will reach more people in our community, making sure we can say “yes” today and in the future.
