Dear Friends,
This has been a challenging year but our Y has continued to serve the community through the long months of the COVID-19 pandemic. I’m sincerely grateful to so many of our Y members who stayed with the Y when our buildings were closed in the spring. I’m also grateful to many people who have helped the Y to support those in our community who are facing food insecurity, homelessness and isolation. Our food and supply drives, and our well-being calls to thousands of people have helped to keep our community united through the challenges of this year.
Over the months, many of you also have seen the exciting progress on construction of our YMCA Family Center expansion, which continues to progress on schedule. We are in the homestretch with funding the project and we hope you will help us to build for the future. Our new eight-lane pool and double-sized sports gymnasium will enable our Y to serve the community in new and broader ways, incorporating health and safety standards that have become routine at the Y this year.
Our hundreds of donors have made this important capital expansion possible. And right now, we have an exciting opportunity for donors to help us reach our next goal. Offered by an anonymous donor, our “Homestretch Gift Challenge” is to reach $8.6M in our Capital Campaign by December 31. When we reach that benchmark anytime yet this year, our donor will contribute a most generous gift of $400K to help achieve a new high point of $9M raised in the Campaign! We started this effort three years ago and our donors have been with us through all phases of the project. Right now we need your help and we hope you will join us in this challenge. Thank you for being part of our Y community as we build for the future!
