FAMILY CONNECTION | August 27, 2020
The Class of 2021 celebrated their first Senior Class Mass today, August 27.
Class Masses
Campus Ministry is hosting Masses this fall for each class. Students should follow the Dress Up Days guidelines shared in the Student-Parent Handbook of dress shirt, tie, dress pants, and belt as well as face mask. Masses will begin at 2 pm (NO Afternoon Griffin Assist) with dismissal at 2:40 pm that day. Students in the class are required to attend unless they are online that day.

  • Freshmen - Wednesday, September 9
  • Sophomores - Wednesday, September 2
  • Juniors - Thursday, September 3

Students also have weekly opportunities on campus for Adoration, Mass, and/or prayer services.
Student-Parent Handbook
Families should review the Student-Parent Handbook and log into Blackbaud to confirm your agreement for the 2020-2021 school year.
School Forms
Parents have several online forms to complete for this school year. You must be logged into your account, not your student's Blackbaud account, to access the notification bar near the top of your screen that states, “You have: * Form(s) to Review.”
Visit Blackbaud Help if you need instructions on how to log in and navigate Blackbaud.
Parent Volunteers Needed
There are numerous opportunities for parents to volunteer with Parents’ Club. We invite you to submit one form per household, knowing that some events listed may be modified or cancelled because of health and safety guidelines. If you have specific questions about any of the volunteer opportunities, please contact Dennis Matreci at
Virtual Grandparents' Day
We invite grandparents to join their grandsons for a virtual Grandparents’ Mass on Sunday, September 13, at 9:30 am. Postcard invitations will also be mailed to grandparents. Grandparents who register by Monday, September 7, will receive a special commemorative gift from Vianney. You will receive instructions on how to view Grandparents’ Mass online after registration.
School Picture Retakes
School pictures can be retaken if needed on Wednesday, September 30, or Thursday, October 1. Please complete the online form if you want to purchase photos from Tom Paule Photography.
Slow the Spread | COVID-19
  • CARPOOLS | When carpooling, everyone in the vehicle should wear masks and open windows to promote ventilation. If someone in your carpool has COVID-19, sitting in a confined space with them significantly increases the chance of virus transmission.
  • ONLINE LEARNING | Students should participate in online learning from their own homes when possible. Gathering with classmates for online classes increases the chance of virus transmission. If you are with other students on or off campus, remain six feet apart, wear masks, and wash/sanitize your hands.
  • NECK GAITERS | Neck gaiters are NOT considered proper face coverings because of their thinner material.
If a student is exposed to COVID-19 or around someone who was exposed, please email Erin Foerestel, RN or Laura Madden, RN at The student should remain at home and attend all classes online until he is cleared by our nurses to return to campus.
Reporting Campus Absences
If your student is remaining home for any reason on a day he is scheduled to be on campus, please contact Jen Kraus in the Main Office at 314-965-4853 ext 100 or Let her know if your student is attending his classes online that day so that he is not recorded as absent.
Senior Class Meeting
A Senior Class Meeting will be held during Afternoon Griffin Assist on Tuesday, September 1, to discuss graduation and other class events.

Senior Parent Meeting
Our mandatory Senior Parent Meeting will be held via Zoom Tuesday, September 1, at 7 pm. A recording will be available for review at the conclusion of the meeting. Please look for the Zoom link to be emailed in advance of the meeting.
College Counseling invites you to explore virtual opportunities as our annual college fair in September was cancelled.

There are fairs currently hosted by the National Association for College Admission Counseling on September 13, October 12, October 18, and November 8.
The Missouri Association of College Admission Counseling is offering 180 virtual sessions on college planning, career information, financial aid & scholarships, military options, and more. The 45-minute interactive sessions are open September 13 to October 8.
ACT Prep Course
To prepare for the ACT this fall, there is a course online and in person beginning Thursday, September 3. It is $350 per student with a $50 discount if a sibling previously took the course.
Please contact Sarah Kheriaty at if you have any questions.
Voter Registration
Students turning 18 on or before November 3 should register with Dennis Matreci in the Leadership Center by September 30 to vote in the upcoming election. Students should also register with him for Selective Service within 30 days of turning 18 to be eligible for federal financial aid for college. This is not a military draft registration but is required by federal law.
Athletes should continue to bring face masks and water bottles to practices. Please remain at home if you are experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms. Visit our Athletics page for schedules and updates for each sport.
School Lunch
Please submit one form per student by 10 pm this Sunday to order lunch for next week. For $5, students receive a bottle of water, chips, and two chocolate chip cookies with the sandwich option of Turkey & Cheese, Ham & Cheese, or Roast Beef & Cheese.
Students also have the option to order lunch for just the day via the Daily Lunch Order Form to be submitted by 8:30 am that day.
