Full Return to Campus
We are prepared to return the entire student body to campus on Wednesday, January 27, for a trial period. Students are expected to continue all the health and safety protocols established in the first semester. If a student must continue classes online for health and safety reasons, please contact Assistant Principal of Academics Kelly Slattery at by this Monday, January 25 to discuss the arrangements.

Wednesday-Friday, January 27-29 | All students on campus

If the trial period proceeds as planned, we expect a full return to campus beginning Monday, February 1. However, we will continue to evaluate the impact of COVID on our community and adjust our school schedule and events as needed. Your commitment to following COVID protocols off campus will allow us to more safely gather on campus each day.
Power of Prayer
Andrew Knirr '21 was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Please pray for Andrew and his family as he begins cancer treatment. The senior class gathered this week to pray together and to plan for ways to support Andrew.

We ask that you also keep Peter Gilmore '23 and his family in your prayers following his multiple surgeries as well as Karen Gauvain, wife of faculty Dave Gauvain, during her cancer treatment.
Father-Son Masses
Father-Son Mass is Tuesday, February 2, for Junior and Senior dads and Wednesday, February 3, for Freshman and Sophomore dads. Fathers with multiple sons at Vianney can choose to attend one or both 7:15 am Masses in the Field House. Health screening and masks are required while on campus. Students attending Mass should arrive in dress shirt, tie, dress pants, and belt.
Please register by Friday, January 29, to ensure we safely accommodate everyone and prepare enough grab-and-go breakfasts.

VIRTUAL Night of the Griffin
There are a number of ways you can support our virtual auction on Saturday, February 13, including donations via Amazon and Target. Thank you to those who have already donated!
We are following the quarantine guidelines of St. Louis County. If a student experiences COVID symptoms or is exposed to COVID, please notify our school nurse at She will help develop a timeline for the student to safely return to campus. Tracking COVID-19 cases among our students allows us to make informed decisions for the entire community.
ACC Registration & Tuition
During January, Juniors and Seniors enrolled in Advanced College Credit (ACC) courses may register with select universities (SLU, UMSL, Drury, MO State) to earn college credit. Our faculty will provide the instructions, but the universities insist that each student register himself. There have been several cases of parents inadvertently registering themselves instead of their student. A student may need parents to provide information like his Social Security number. Tuition bills not collected as part of registration will likely be sent to the student by mail or email. Look for the bill, usually due in April.

If you have questions, please contact Dennis Matreci at 314-965-4853 ext 116 or

Always visit our Athletics Calendar for the latest information as dates and times are subject to change.
Blessed William Joseph Chaminade
“I am like a brook that makes no effort to overcome obstacles in its way. All the obstacles can do is hold me up for a while, as a brook is held up; but during that time it grows broader and deeper and after a while it overflows the obstruction and flows along again. This is how I am going to work.”
In Memoriam
Please pray for the repose of the souls of our dearly departed:
  • Carol Waters, mother of Terry Cochran
  • Al Book, Sr., father of Al Book
We invite you to submit prayer requests, including any special intentions.
