Vianney hosted 120 teachers from six area schools virtually on Friday for our 13th Annual Speaker Series. This year’s keynote speaker was Dr. John T. James with an inspiring message for Catholic educators on their vital role in today’s world.
Schedule Updates
  • There is NO SCHOOL Wednesday, October 14, unless a student is taking the PSAT that day. Families will be notified by email if their Sophomore or Junior is taking the test.

  • Thursday, October 15, is a Lion Day with Freshmen & Sophomores learning ON CAMPUS and Juniors & Seniors learning ONLINE.

  • There is NO SCHOOL Friday, October 16, for Seniors; they are encouraged to explore colleges that day. It is an Eagle Day for all other students with 11:30 am DISMISSAL. Freshmen & Sophomores are ONLINE while Juniors are ON CAMPUS for the Practice ACT.

Academic Support
If a student requires additional academic support, we offer the following resources:
  • Homework Hotel | Monday-Thursday from 2:50-3:50 pm in the Media Center
  • Math Tutoring | Tuesday and Wednesday until 4 pm in Room 208
  • Griffin Assist | 7:45-8:10 am when a student is on campus and 2:10-2:40 pm when a student is online or on campus
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Conferences will be held virtually Tuesday, October 13, 5-7 pm and Wednesday, October 14, 8-11 am and 12-3 pm. Look for registration information in the week ahead.
Text Messages for Students
Students who recently submitted their mobile numbers must text “Y” or “Yes” to 67587 from their mobile phones to opt-in for school texts. You will receive a confirmation text once you successfully enroll.
What happens when the spirit of a Griffin meets the heart of a Jaguar? You will have to enter our 1999 Jaguar XJ8 Raffle to find out! Buy one ticket for $50 or three tickets for $100 for a chance to win this single-owner luxury car. It is in excellent condition and was detailed for you after passing inspection in July.
The winner will be drawn Friday, October 30, with part of the proceeds supporting festivities for our Class of 2021.
Senior Quilt Square
We sent quilt squares to families shortly after Labor Day in their Senior Packet. It included instructions on how to decorate your square. If you did not receive a quilt square, please contact Lisa Hackett at 314-965-4853 ext 147 or to celebrate this senior class tradition.
Parent Giving Challenge
We mailed a letter in September encouraging parents to participate in the Parent Giving Challenge. You can send your donation in the return envelope included with your letter or online. Make your donation by December 1 to help your son's class win the challenge!

Kickoff with Kyren
We invite Juniors and Seniors Saturday, October 10, for Kickoff with Kyren at 6 pm to watch Kyren Williams '19 and Notre Dame vs Florida State. Look for registration information in the coming week.
We encourage Juniors and Seniors to register for the flu vaccine by Monday, October 12. The final round will be administered by the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater St. Louis on Tuesday, October 20.
To receive the vaccine, you must also complete the appropriate consent form and bring it along with your health insurance card.

Service Hours
This school year we will accept service hours performed for family and friends in addition to hours served at Vianney and other charitable organizations.

  • Sophomores and Juniors must complete their service hour requirements for the 2019-20 school year by December 31, 2020 with hours submitted for verification through Helper Helper.
  • Freshmen have until the first day of school for the 2021-22 school year to complete 20 hours of service Helper Helper access given at their Freshmen Retreat on Friday, October 23.

ACT Prep Course  
If you would like to prepare for the December ACT, Sarah Kheriaty is hosting a Zoom course beginning November 4. It is $350 per student with a $50 discount if a sibling previously took her course.

College Counseling invites you to explore virtual opportunities as our annual college fair in September was cancelled.

Register for a Fall MEGA Visit to learn about K-State, MO State, Alabama, Kentucky, and Mizzou in a 45-minute presentation hosted by all five schools.
There are fairs currently hosted by the National Association for College Admission Counseling on October 12, October 18, and November 8.
The Missouri Association of College Admission Counseling is offering 180 virtual sessions on college planning, career information, financial aid & scholarships, military options, and more. The 45-minute interactive sessions are open through October 8.

Griffin Gear Store
Our Griffin Gear Store is open to students and parents on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:15-9:15 am and 2:45-3:15 pm. It is also open on the first Saturday of each month from 9:30-11:30 am. The online store is open 24/7 for your convenience.

School Lunch
The Daily Lunch Order Form can be found under the Resources tab in Blackbaud and should be submitted by 8:30 am to order lunch for that day. Griffins' Cafe offers a hot sandwich every day but Wednesday.
