Funeral Services
Services for Jen Gau Marr, mother of James '24, Andrew, and Samantha begin with visitation today, October 15, from 3:30-7:30 pm at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Due to COVID restrictions, the funeral Mass at Queen of All Saints Church and burial tomorrow, October 16, are private, but the 10 am funeral Mass can be viewed by live stream. 
All are welcome to attend an outdoor celebration of Jen’s life, at Queen of All Saints on Friday, October 16, from 2-4 pm. Please wear Cardinals attire in honor of Jen.
Mother-Son Masses
Mother-Son Mass is Tuesday, October 20, for Junior and Senior moms and Wednesday, October 21, for Freshman and Sophomore moms. Mothers with multiple sons at Vianney can choose to attend one or both 7:15 am Masses in the Field House. Health screening and masks are required while on campus. Please register by this Sunday, October 18, to ensure we safely accommodate everyone and prepare enough grab-and-go breakfasts.
Father-Son BBQ
We invite fathers and their Griffins to join us at Don Heeb Stadium Sunday, October 25, from 11 am-2 pm for an afternoon filled with BBQ, bags tournaments, and big-screen sports. We respectfully ask that families not bring alcohol to the event. Health screening and masks are required while on campus. The cost is $10 per family. Please register by this Monday, October 19.
The outdoor event is in lieu of this semester's Father-Son Banquet. We may be able to host the Father-Son Banquet next semester if a venue can safely accommodate all of our guests.
Friday Schedule
There is NO SCHOOL tomorrow, October 16, for Seniors; they are encouraged to explore colleges that day. It is an Eagle Day for all other students with 11:30 am DISMISSAL. Freshmen & Sophomores are ONLINE while Juniors are ON CAMPUS for the Practice ACT.

Schedule Update
The administration is working to return upperclassmen to campus three days a week without compromising the current schedule for underclassmen. This next step will help us identify what areas still need our focus to consider a full-time return. Your continued support and understanding is appreciated as we work to ensure that any changes to the current school schedule align with Vianney’s mission and safety objectives.  
Black and Gold Spirit Day
Students may wear official Vianney logo clothing Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30. Halloween costumes are welcome as long as students continue to wear their COVID masks.
Parent Giving Challenge
Please make your donation by December 1 to help your son's class win the Parent Giving Challenge! Send your donation in the return envelope mailed last month or make your gift online. 
Juniors and Seniors registered for the flu vaccine on Tuesday, October 20, must complete the appropriate consent form and bring it with your health insurance card.

FAFSA Presentation
Senior families are invited to listen to David Rice from Saint Louis University explain the Free Application for Federal Student Aid process. The application is open now to Seniors and is required by most colleges if you want to apply for financial aid or work on campus.
College Application Dates
Seniors are encouraged to check priority application and scholarship dates for their colleges. Students who apply by November 1 often receive first consideration for scholarships, dorms, and class registration. 
NCAA Eligibility
The NCAA Eligibility Center is hosting a webinar for student-athletes and their families on Saturday, November 7, at 1 pm to discuss eligibility adjustments. 
ACT Prep Course  
If you would like to prepare for the December ACT, Sarah Kheriaty is hosting a Zoom course beginning November 4. It is $350 per student with a $50 discount if a sibling previously took her course.

Counseling Presentations
CHADS Coalition for Mental Health will discuss suicide prevention with Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors on Tuesday, October 20, or Thursday, October 22. We encourage parents to talk about this topic with your sons. Our counselors will be present for the in-person and online presentations and offer follow-up resources.
We host CBC for our first home varsity football game of the season tomorrow, October 16, at 6 pm. We will honor our seniors at 5:30 pm before the game. 
  • The parking lot and gates open at 5:20 pm.
  • No tailgating or congregating is allowed on Vianney's campus or the Lutheran lot.
  • Everyone who enters our stadium must wear a face mask and social distance throughout the game.
  • No containers are allowed in the stadium.
  • Each participant receives two guest vouchers.
  • Guests are not allowed to re-enter once leaving the stadium.

The game will be livestreamed on Griffins TV.
